Hi everybody! Hope you are all well. As i’m sure you are aware, it is an exciting time to be a Darren Criss fan, and with the new announcement of his forthcoming US tour and new album, we would like to take this time to make our own announcement!
A few weeks ago, you were asked to vote for new admins of the DCDUKST, and i’m happy to announce that the members with the most votes, and therefore your new admins are:

We already have some exciting upcoming projects in the works, that we are all eager to share with you, and now seems as good a time as any!
First things first, WRISTBANDS: Yes, the wristbands are back. I know a lot of you have been asking about them for, well, years, and we are happy to say they are back on sale. There are currently 97 in stock, first come first serve, but because it has been a while since we sold them, and we know the demand is quite high, we are limiting it to 1 per person (just until demand subsides). They cost £4:50 each, and that includes postage. To reserve your wristband please add your name to the doc in the Merchandise Facebook Group, and we will be in contact with you in due course with regards to payment and addresses.
MONTHLY THEMES: Every month the ST will have a new theme, and we will be running competitions encouraging you to get involved. This month’s theme is ‘Dapper 4 Darren’ and is all about the Criss love. It is a chance for you tell the world how and why you came to love this all-singing, all-dancing hobbit! We will be posting videos, songs and various other Darren-related awesomeness throughout the month and encourage you to share and share alike with your friends and family.
And we are also running our first COMPETITION: We want you to tell us why you love Darren Criss, whether this be in a blog, story, poem, song, video, photo, drawing etc. The Top 3 entrants will each win an Official DCDUKST Wristband, and will be featured on our main FB page. You can send your submissions via email, with your name, to: DCDapperUKST@gmail.com (for video and song entries, please upload them to YouTube or SoundCloud first, and then email us the link). All submissions entered will also be featured on our Tumblr page. Deadline for entries is: 23:59 BST May 30th 2013
MEETUPS: In order to reduce the cost of travelling to meetups for members, and in the hope that more people will travel further afield, we are going to plan meetups as far in advance as possible.
Meetups will also be organised so that, as well as being a date when members can meet and hang out with each other, they will involve group sing-a-longs and splitting off into groups to hand out flyers promoting Darren’s work.

Monday 12th August: London*
Thursday 29th August: Manchester
Autumn Half-Term: Portsmouth (Date TBC)
Details of exact times and locations will be published on the individual event pages in the next few weeks, and we are also hoping to travel to locations in groups to reduce fares for individuals, again keep an eye on the Event pages for info about that.
*As some of you may have noted, the London meetup coincides with this year’s London LeakyCon and for this reason it will not be restricted to DCDUKST members but be open to all fans of Darren Criss. We want to make it a big event to show the UK, the world, and indeed Darren himself, just how much the UK loves him. More details about this will be published in due course.

SUGGESTIONS THREADS: We want you as members to be more actively involved with what goes on in the DCDUKST, and for that reason we will be creating Suggestion Threads every two months for you to post your own ideas for how the ST can grow and evolve.
And finally, MODERATOR APPLICATIONS. With new admins, comes new moderators and we are happy to announce that Moderator Applications will go live very soon. We understand some of you are eager to get more involved with the ST, so keep an eye out for those applications going live soon!

An Open Love Letter to Dapper
It’s funny how people seem to spend so long making important life decisions
But life has taught me that it is the decisions we make that seem insignificant at the time, that change our life’s the most
Nearly two years ago, I pressed a ‘join group’ button on Facebook and thought nothing of it
What I got in exchange was acceptance and love
Before joining that group, I had hidden my true self away
What I showed to others was a small portion of who I am
The rest I kept in a padlocked box deep in my heart
I had put it away years ago after being made to feel less then human by undeserving others
I was living half alive
Feeling alone in the world I had created myselfToday I may not be completely mended from the hurt the world has dealt me
but I no longer feel the need to hide who I am
I may not be what the world expects of me but I’ve learnt that I am a great deal more
I am part of a family who accepts me for all of my imperfections
Because they make me who I amI share my life fully with them and feel like I am no longer alone in the world
So to those people who are here for me now and were there for me then
You are more then what you think you are
You are stronger then you feel
You are a 100 times more beautiful then you could have ever dreamt of
How do I know this?
Because you taught me to love in a way I never thought possible
It may seem cliche but there is truth in it
You’ve saved my life
Not once or twice but everyday
I have people in my life that believe I am worth something

So, I had two books and I didn’t really need both dedicated to me
At the same time I didn’t want to have to pick someone to give this away to and I didn’t really want to give away my Hanklerfished book
So I was trying to work out what to do with it when I realised that there were loads of people in the DCDUKST who had really wanted to go and couldn’t
Events had sold out, venues were too far etc etc
So basically I got Katherines with my name and then went and got TFiOS signed to the entire Street Team
I was explaining it and John said it was really nice and the picture I posted on the ST a few hours ago has over 40 likes so they like it too
Idk I feel really good, these people mean so much to me and it felt nice to do something for them :’)
